Downtown Green: Money Talks

The desire to go green doesn't mean much unless you "vote" with your dollar. Having a green procurement policy formalizes your commitment to going green. Many green products can save you money and have health benefits too (i.e. no toxins).

A few actions to consider:

- Reduce frequency of delivery of office supplies to just once or maximum twice a week. Carbon emissions from delivery can be significant if you receive daily deliveries.

- Some vendors offer the service of making a list of all the office products you buy and delineating for you which are "green" and not-so-green.

- Support caterers that do not use Styrofoam and that prepare their food with organic, local ingredients.

- Purchase organic, fair trade coffee.
