Downtown Boulder proudly joins over 250 U.S. cities and 16 international cities around the globe for Fashion's Night Out (FNO) - the third year of this unprecedented global initiative. Fashion's Night Out festivities kickoff at 6 p.m. in front of the County Courthouse on the Pearl Street Mall (1300 block) with a "flash" of excitement led by Alchemy of Movement followed by a not-to-be-missed event paying tribute to the fashion industry while highlighting several of the trendy, upscale businesses that make up the downtown landscape. Blair Griffith, Miss Colorado USA will make a special appearance during the kickoff and also be available for a meet and greet / autograph session immediately following.
Following the kickoff celebration, over 20 businesses will host official FNO events. Attendees will enjoy everything from fashion shows, live music and DJs to food & wine, trunk shows and amazing giveaways & gifts with purchase.
The Pearl Street Stampedes are a pre-game pep rally like no other! Held every Friday (except Thursday, November 3) before CU home games, members of the Golden Buffalo Marching Band and football team hit the bricks to the delight of fans of all ages. The route travels west along Pearl Street and concludes in the Camera parking lot at 11th and Pearl.
For the first time ever, CU's annual Homecoming Paradeand pep rally will take place downtown as an extended version of the October 21 Stampede! Grab your black & gold and get ready to cheer on our hometown team as they premiere in the Pac-12!
Remember: Saturday game day parking for CU home games is FREE in all Downtown City Parking Garages.
September 18 | Pearl Street's East End | 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
On Sunday, September 18, Boulder will host its second year "Ciclovia" style event proudly hosted by Boulder Green Streets. With over 50 free activities programmed, including a "multi-modal fashion show" (aka: You too can be Cycle Chic) and possible Bike ballet performance, the event will culminate with a "multi-modal parade". Have you ever seen a Brazilian Carnival style float with a full piece Samba band pulled by a cycling team? What's more Colorado than a Blue Grass Band and dancers pulled by runners?
Transition Colorado is hosting Boulder County's EAT LOCAL! Week as an opportunity for citizens to explore and celebrate the abundance of local food, highlighting local family farms and farmers' markets, along with the restaurants, grocers, and organizations which support them.
Downtown Boulder's three-day autumn festival features local food and microbrews, music, children's entertainment, a children's carnival and more than 30 artisan booths all along the historic Pearl Street Mall. A great event for families, or anyone who enjoys spending time outside in the gorgeous fall weather. Join us for the 2011 Fall Festival as we celebrate autumn in picturesque Downtown Boulder. Mid-year recruitment for openings on City boards and commissions ends on Tuesday, September 6. At this time, the City has an opening on the Downtown Management Commission for a term running through March 2014 (this seat must be filled by a property owner or representative). There is also an opening for the Boulder Junction Access District - Parking Commission for a term running through March 2013 (this seat is at-large). Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, prior to the start of the scheduled study session.
