Community Mural Project Celebration

Public celebration at BMoCA highlights murals created by Boulder youth with artist Tony Ortega

Through the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art's youth outreach program Art Stop on the Go, exhibiting artist Tony Ortega has created a Community Mural Project with young artists from under-served communities of Boulder County. The students, ages 5-18, who are members of the I Have a Dream Foundation and The Family Learning Center, were invited to collaborate on three large murals.

In addition to viewing the Community Mural Project at this free event, attendees of all ages will enjoy a traditional Mexica/Azteca drum and dance performance by Grupo Tlaloc Danza Azteca at 12:15 pm, as well as delicious food and art-making projects.

Downtown Boulder Artfair

July 17 & 18 | Pearl Street (10th-15th St.) | FREE

The 32nd Annual Downtown Boulder ArtFair will host more than 120 artists on Saturday and Sunday, July 17th and 18th.  The artists, selected by a jury of art professionals, represent 21 states and countries (as far away as Israel!) within a wide range of mediums, from painting and photography to sculpture and metalwork. 

In addition, attendees can enjoy a culinary demonstration by Downtown Boulder's own Top Chef, Hosea Rosenberg, a children's activity booth hosted by Clementine Studios and live entertainment provided by participants of the 2010 Boulder International Fringe Festival.  Check out the 2010 ArtFair Program page for more information and here for our video trailer.

Downtown Boulder is currently seeking volunteers during ArtFair to:

- Assist with our Zero Waste efforts
- Sell refreshments at the Downtown Boulder booth
- Assist the event and operations staff with various responsibilities during the event


Volunteer shifts typically last 3-4 hours. If you are interested in being a volunteer please email events@dbi.org and write ARTFAIR VOLUNTEER in the subject line.




HOP 2 Chautauqua

The HOP to Chautauqua is providing free transit service to the Colorado Music Festival & Chautauqua Summer Music Series through the end of the summer season.  Buses arrive every 15 minutes at designated stops from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Colorado Music Festival concert nights and until 10 p.m. on all other concert nights.  At the conclusion of each concert, buses will be staged on the east side of the Chautauqua Auditorium ready to return passengers to their destinations.

Transit stops for this special service are located at:· 11th and Pearl streets, 13th and Pearl streets,15th and Pearl streets, Chautauqua Park, 27th Way Park-n-Ride, Along 9th Street between Downtown Boulder and Chautauqua

Join us tonight with variety dance band Deja Blu, whose shows are high energy, pure fun packed with your favorite dance music from the 60’s to today! (check here for rain-out info after 6:30 p.m.)

On July 14th, join the party and dance salsa with local hit Quemando. Come at 6 p.m.for a free salsa dancer and instructor Eric Freeman!

The dancing lessons continue at Noon Tunes on Friday, July 16th with tango trio Trio con Brio. Learn to tango with lessons from Jess Rodriguez, winner of the 2009 Dancing with Boulder Stars! Lessons begin with the band at noon.

As always, join us every Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m. in our new Beer Garden, ($5/16 oz. drafts) featuring brews from The Boulder Draft House (as well as wine).
