Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID)The Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID) is a 49-block neighborhood where property owners tax themselves to make their community cleaner, safer and more vibrant. The tax is used by the BID to purchase services that supplement those provided by the city and provide a comprehensive consumer marketing program. Through the BID, local businesses band together to take community responsibility and carefully planned growth to a new level.Working with the City of Boulder and our non profit partner, Downtown Boulder Incorporated, the Downtown Boulder BID is leading a new spirit of cooperation among property owners, businesses and the community by providing a range of enhanced management programs including maintenance, marketing, economic vitality and physical improvements. These program areas of the Downtown Boulder BID are designed to retain, expand and attract businesses and investment to improve the downtown environment. The result is the establishment of Downtown Boulder as the premier business, cultural and entertainment destination in the Colorado Front Range. The Downtown Boulder BID is working to create one of the great downtowns of the world. Programs and Events There is always something fun happening in Downtown Boulder. Events make every season sparkle. There are free summer concerts in the afternoons and evenings, a Fourth of July Celebration, ArtFair, Fall Festival, a holiday celebration, a holiday parade and much more. Operations The Downtown Boulder BID Operations Program works year round to make Downtown Boulder a beautiful, safe, and fun place to visit. The Downtown Boulder BID offers comprehensive maintenance services for the entire district including trash removal, graffiti removal, event production, and general downtown security. The Downtown Boulder Street Team combs the downtown district on a daily basis, addressing all issues and taking note of possible improvements. These services create a safer and more beautiful downtown experience for all those who work in or visit the BID. Economic Development The Downtown Boulder BID offers an array of services, such as marketing, information and research, event production and other economic initiatives to all of the businesses within the District. These services allow for ongoing communication of important issues and ideas between the BID and its businesses and create a feeling of community among all those doing business in the BID. Downtown Boulder is a strong candidate for future businesses looking to relocate or expand, with a vibrant mix of tenants, including artisans, specialty boutiques, fine dining and live entertainment venues, offices, business services and many more. Our mission is to maintain it as the center of commerce, government, culture, and leisure. DBI’s membership supports the overall vitality of Downtown through public advocacy, political involvement, and by producing community events that enhance the Boulder experience for residents and visitors. |
