Local Filmmakers’ Showcase: American Rebel: The Dean Reed Story
Directed by Will Roberts (1985).  Dean Reed was an international superstar whose records sold millions and the films in which he starred, wrote, or directed were the biggest box office hits behind the Iron Curtain.  This film by Academy Award winning documentary filmmaker Will Roberts traces Reed’s odyssey from his boyhood in Lakewood, Colorado to Hollywood, from South America to Helsinki, from Italy to Russia, and finally to East Berlin where Reed died in 1986. His remains are interned at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder. In Russian, German, and Spanish with subtitles.  (93 min.)
