Downtown retailers in the spotlight as fashion hits the runway on the Pearl Street Mall

BOULDER, COLORADO (August 26, 2014)   On Thursday, September 4, over 25 downtown retailers will join forces to highlight fall fashion trends with a free runway fashion show on the Pearl Street Mall (1300 block in front of the County Courthouse) as part of Fashion’s Night Downtown Boulder (FND Boulder).   The runway show (produced by Downtown Boulder, Inc.) kicks off at 6 p.m. and is immediately followed by in-store special events happening throughout the district.

Fashionistas of all ages are invited to FND Boulder’s celebrations where they will find exciting events from extended store hours, exclusive promotions and giveaways, music, entertainment, trunk shows and more.  On the East End, Starr's Clothing will host a French Connection Trunk Show with music by DJ Tazoz. There will be 100 balloons to pop with special discounts inside to help the store celebrate its' 100 year anniversary.   On the West End, Fjallraven, Goorin Bros. Hat Shop, Earthbound Trading Co. & Shoe Fly have teamed up for a sidewalk jam.  Banshee Tree will be performing.  There will be sweet treats on hand and some amazing giveaways.

There are a few new retailers participating for the first time (e.g. American Apparel, Alex and Ani & Explicit Streetwear) and several that have been on board for the past few years (e.g. Weekends, Barbara & Company, Savvy on Pearl, Common Era, and more).   A complete list of participating businesses can be found online at FNDBoulder.com.

“For the past four years, participating retailers have gone all out to make sure their in-store events are fun and memorable,” said Anna Salim, Downtown Boulder’s Event Director.  “Not only is the event a great way for retailers to thank their loyal patrons, it’s also a wonderful opportunity to introduce their businesses to new customers.   There is nothing better than overhearing attendees comment about how they discovered a new place to shop downtown.”

The City of Boulder Parking Services is showing their support for FND Boulder with a special parking promotion. A parking coupon can be found on the FND Boulder Event Maps being distributed at participating retailers (and online at FNDBoulder.com) giving people two hours of free parking after 5 p.m. at either the 15th and Pearl or St Julien parking garages on Thursday, September 4th only.
