A Who, What, Where, When, and Why you need to be at Bands on the Bricks!
WHO: You! Whether you’re a dancing queen or just want to enjoy a summer night out with your friends, Bands on the Bricks is the perfect addition to a Wednesday night. Bands on the Bricks has seating and dancing room for both young and old. Beyond the chairs, there are surrounding green spaces in front of the courthouse. My sunburned toes loved moving around in the grass after taking a break from the bricks in the beer garden.
WHAT: Bands on the Bricks is Boulder County's premier outdoor summer concert series. From oldies to alternative and everything in between, A not-to-be-missed summer tradition with 10 weeks of free concerts. Enjoy performances from the best local musicians along the front range while dancing under the stars. Featuring an outdoor beer/wine/margarita garden starting at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday night, featuring Rio Margaritas and a local brewery. This summer's brewery line-up includes: West Flanders (June) and Avery Brewing Company (July & August). It’s the best thing to happen to Wednesday nights! (Besides the Farmer’s Market!)
WHERE: The beer garden and stage are located in the heart of the city on the bricks of the one-and-only Pearl Street Mall. Find the stage just in front of the Court House and near the Visitor Information Center. Food carts and neighboring local restaurants surround the beer garden and stage. Pizza Colore sold me a massive slice of cheese pizza for under $3 and it tasted even better with the live music outside. Whatta deal!
WHEN: Even though the show gets rolling at 7pm, it’s a good idea to hit up the beer/wine/margarita garden earlier (opens at 5:30). Purchased drink tickets can be used any night during the 2016 summer concert series.
WHY: Summer nights are better on the bricks. Bands on the Bricks is currently in it’s 19th season and is hotter than ever. Over 2,000 people attended my favorite “That Eighties Band” on June 15, and I expect the popularity to grow. This thriving community event is a summer hit, and it’s never too late to put it on your calendar. Make it part of your traditions! PS. Don't forget your dancing shoes.
I'll see you out there!
