Beer Belly Ready!
Boulder is one of the nation’s hubs for beer enthusiasts. In February, Boulder was voted the 6th best beer town in America. It’s no surprise, as some of the biggest breweries are in the front range area, and actually right outside our door. This extremely warm summer has made me abnormally thirsty, and luckily for me the Boulder Craft Beer Festival is happening Saturday August 20th, 2016. I’ll be writing about the event during the coming weeks and providing more details and tips on attending.
There are over 25 craft breweries in attendance: I’m extremely excited about all of the breweries listed. And with 20 breweries in attendance the first year, our event planners have been really busy with some great new additions! Breweries of all shapes and sizes will be in attendance, so there should be plenty of options to tickle your fancy. To learn more about all of the attending breweries click here.
Get your tickets ahead of time: To start, the event will sell out. It has for the past two years, and this year we’re expecting another great turnout! Also, you save $5 when you buy your ticket before August 20th ($30 compared to the $35 ticket prices at the door). VIP tickets are $50, and provide early access(12pm) to the event, specialty beer samples, and an event hat! For those not drinking, but still want to come enjoy the event, there will be Designated Driver tickets for $10 which include unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and one $10 voucher, good at any food vendor at the event! Also, the DD ticket can only be purchased in advance.
Dress comfortably, and cool: Yes, dress comfortably, but dress cool as well. It’s the middle of August, and no I can not predict the weather, but let’s be honest, it’s always hot in August! In addition to beer, there will also be live music and lawn games. The Heartstring Hunters will be performing from 12:30-2:30 and Chain Station from 3:00-5:00. If you ask me, (between the beer, live music, food, and lawn games) I am going to be sweating quite profusely. So, make sure you stay cool, and wear those zip off cargo pants or board shorts so you can dance, drink, and play all day! (Make sure to bring an umbrella just in case - we all know how quickly Colorado weather can change.)
Lastly, and most importantly, have fun: I know I am not the the only one that thinks this summer absolutely flew by. It’s already August 2nd!!! But let’s not think of the Boulder Craft Beer Festival as a marking of the end of summer. Remember summer doesn't officially end until September 22nd, so enjoy some of Boulder’s best craft beer, music, and wonderful food in celebration of the season.
Make sure you save some money and buy your tickets now, they’re going fast! Look forward to seeing you there!
