Boulder: Land of The Outdoors and Movies- Boulder Outdoor Cinema
People in Boulder love the outdoors. Let’s just give in to stereotypes for a minute and say that every single person in Boulder is a nature-loving, tree-hugging, bike-riding hippie. People in general love movies. Again, taking a classic stereotype here, let’s pretend the majority of Americans and our foreign visitors have an obsession with Hollywood, its culture, and the movies it gives us. So hey, here’s an idea, let’s combine the two. The Boulder Outdoor Cinema screens movies outside in Downtown Boulder’s Central Park area once a week during the summer time.
This week the Boulder Outdoor Cinema’s film is, for lack of a better word, awesome. On Saturday, July 25th the LEGO Movie will be playing in Central Park at 7 pm! I would definitely get there a little early, not only to grab the best seats, but also to check out Boulder Outdoor Cinema’s opener Isabella Davis. Isabella Davis plays country, pop, and rock (ish) as she puts it, and will make your movie-filled evening even better! As if that isn’t enough excitement for one night, Boulder Outdoor Cinema will be giving out trivia prizes from local businesses such as Trek Light Gear. Of course, there's always some tasty food trucks at the screenings. This week will feature delicious French Twist Food Truck. So come out to Central Park Saturday, July 25th and check out the LEGO Movie! Get comfortable. Bring your blankets, pillows, and even pajamas.
I am going to assume that anyone who attends one Boulder Outdoor Cinema screening will become a regular of this movie night. So here’s a schedule for the rest of the films being shown this summer:
July 25 - LEGO Movie
Aug 1 - Birdman
Aug 8 - Monty Python & The Holy Grail
Aug 15 - Tucker & Dale vs Evil
Aug 22 - Princess Bride
Aug 29 - This Is Spinal Tap
Tickets are $5 a piece and can be purchased ahead of time online or at the door.
