Burgers, Brews, and Nostalgia

Here’s a fun fact about me that no one asked for, Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery was the first restaurant I ate at here in Boulder way back in the fall of 2014. I remember it like it was yesterday, I was a bright eyed and bushy-tailed freshmen moving into Sewall Hall with the fambam. If any of you have every moved into a college dorm or has helped a loved one move into one, then you know that tensions can start to run a little high. We had been unpacking for what seemed like hours, it was hot, everyone was tired and hungry, and let me tell ya, my family and I are not happy people when we’re hungry. We were on the cusp of an all out screaming match when we decided that we all needed a break, which was how I was introduced to one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder.

Mountain Sun was the only place that got me away from The Hill and campus my freshman year, so if you think about it, it was my introduction to downtown. I can proudly say I’ve eaten every one of their burgers multiple times (even the two vegetarian options and they are delicious) and I’ve happily devoured a plate of their nachos by myself. I’ve also tried all their beers at least once since turning 21 so I’ve done some work! Also, if you’re still recovering from St. Paddy’s day (no judgment here) you can make your own grilled cheese... nothing is better than a grilled cheese when you’re hungover.

Now if you’re still on the fence about going to this East End staple (I’m not sure why you would be) or if you don’t trust my recommendation (again why?), take comfort in the fact that it’s the third stop on Downtown Boulder’s Walking Beer Trail, that guide will never do you dirty. So go have yourself a grand old time, you won’t regret it!

Sincerely,

Lee

(P.S. Mountain Sun is cash or check only, they do have an ATM machine in the back though!)
