Okay, let’s just go ahead and assume that everyone in the world thinks exactly like I do. Therefore, people love to show their parents their appreciation, and everyone loves to shop. With Father’s Day around the corner the pressure is on to find the perfect gift, and let me tell you I am very competitive. I’m really shooting for another blog post detailing my brother crying, but this time it’s because my Father’s Day gift was so much better than his. Well I’m thinking that Pearl Street Mall and the downtown area are pretty good places to start!
My dad loves hats. He has his “driving hat,” an old-school fedora. He has his “traveling hat,” an authentic French beret. And finally, he has a mullet wig reserved for his visits to my college town. Naturally, when shopping for my Father’s Day gift, my first move is to look for a hat to add to his collection. This makes the first stop on my shopping list Goorin Bros. Hat Shop! Goorin Bros. has an amazing selection of hats, and I’ve seen my fair share of hat shops. From fedoras to sun hats, Goorin Bros. has something for every hat-crazed dad. And their one-year Boulder store anniversary happens to fall just two days shy of Father’s Day, on June 19th. If that’s not a sign, then I don’t know what is.
Now I realize that, strangely enough, not everybody’s dad is an unusual hat fanatic, so I found some more Father’s Day hot spots. You pretty much can’t step foot in Boulder without seeing more bicyclists than cars, but let’s take a moment to consider the original obsessive biking fan: the dad. Personally, when I think of die-hard cyclists, I think of those dads and even granddads who always rode around my neighborhood on bicycles. It was a great, constant reminder that no matter the age, they will always be more athletic than me. If your dad loves bikes, you absolutely have to check out University Bicycles! They have a ridiculous collection of bikes, as in I’m pretty sure it’s a never-ending supply. They also carry biking apparel that’s perfect for dad, and even for you, you crazy bicyclist! So stop in and pick up a great Father’s Day gift, and maybe treat yourself to a “me” day gift while you’re at it.
Speaking of Father’s Day apparel, anyone looking for a great outfit for their outdoorsy dad needs to head over to Fjiallraven Boulder. Fjiallraven has great clothing and outdoor equipment. Perfect for a father’s day camping trip!
No matter what the right Father’s Day gift for your dad is, I think we can all agree on one universal truth: dad’s love grilling. I seriously advise everyone take their dads to Alfalfa’s Father’s Day Grilling on June 21st from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Remember, my advice is literally always right.
So, friends and loyal blog followers, let’s join hands, and take up the noble, age-old cause of out-doing our siblings in the art of Father’s Day gift giving!
