My name is Tyla, I’m currently a student at CU Boulder, and am your new eyes, ears, and voice of Downtown Boulder as the summer 2018 intern. As a Colorado native, Boulder has always been a big part of my life. It wasn’t until moving away for a year to attend the University of Oregon that I realized how special Colorado was to me. There really is no place in the world like Colorado, and especially the town of Boulder.

Being the Colorado native that I am, I understand the hype of craft beer, the perfect taste of green chile, the Red Rocks concert experience, and many other breathtaking views and experiences that this state has to offer. When I was debating transferring back from Oregon, I knew that if not now then, than at some point in my life I would have to live in Boulder. I needed my Colorado sunshine and mountains back in my life, so I turned to CU Boulder.

Boulder has always been a town that I could envision myself in. The constant buzz of Pearl Street has always captured my heart. Downtown Boulder offers so many exciting experiences from entertainment, shopping, eating, and dining that it’s hard not to fall in love. After living in Boulder as a CU student I rarely find myself wanting to go home to Denver. Here, I get to have my own new experiences and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing… and now I can’t wait to share my adventures with you.

You can usually find me walking up and down Pearl Street hunting for my next food spot to explore, or at some of my favorites including: Bartaco, Tahona Tequila Bistro, and West End Tavern. If I’m not there, then I’m most definitely shopping when I shouldn’t be, typically at Elison Rd. or Urban Outfitters. It’s safe to say that the variety of things to do and see in Boulder are endless; and I’m excited to share with you some of the best parts of Downtown Boulder that I’ve been lucky enough to have experienced and some that I have yet to discover.

Best,

Intern Tyla
