Flower Power Comes to Boulder:
Roses are red, violets are blue, tulips are better, let Downtown Boulder show you! Like flowers? Check. Like festivals? Check. Still believe in magic and your inner child and/or have children of your own? Check plus! If any or all of those check points applies to you, then I may just have the perfect event for you and your family to attend. The Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival is definitely an occasion you can’t miss because it is so unique to our town. Spring doesn’t officially start in Downtown Boulder until the vibrant Tulip Fairy (yes, a real Tulip Fairy) along with pint-sized fairies and elves, parade around the Pearl Street Mall “welcoming the tulips" and the arrival of spring.
Sunday (April 3) is the date of the most anticipated events for families and beyond because we get to watch the Tulip Fairy and her little helpers bring to life the flowers along the Pearl Street “bricks”. The event includes live stage performances, face painting, free activities for children, and a variety of other family-friendly activities. The parade begins at 3:30 pm in front of the the performance stage on the 1300 block. All fairies and elves are invited to join the Tulip Fairy as she leads the parade and spreads her magic around the mall. (Watch out Punxsutawney Phil, Downtown’s Tulip Fairy might just take your job). Although the parade begins at 3:30 pm, live performances begin at 1 pm and rock on until 5 pm.
This paragraph goes out to the children of Boulder:
ATTN: calling all aspiring fairies and elves. Don’t forget to wear your most magical costume this Sunday in order to help the Tulip Fairy bring to life the Boulder tulips. Power is in numbers. Don’t forget your wands and magic powers on Sunday, our tulips seem a bit stubborn this year and they’ll need your help to fully blossom! Super hero costumes work just as well!
Flower power isn’t just a 60’s thing, we bring back the groove every year with the Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival. We are extremely excited to spread the magic once again this year! Join the Tulip Fairy and us by volunteering!
Until next time,
