I can't believe it, but my semester interning with Downtown Boulder is coming to an end. It's been an amazing, action-packed four months that have slowly but surely prepared me for that thing they call "The Real World." I've had an unforgettable experience. As I sit here writing my final blog, I find myself reminiscing on my favorite moments of the semester and feel it's only appropriate to share them with you!
Back in February, I had the opportunity to join the awesome DTB team at the Annual Awards Luncheon! (I'm also a Broadcast News Journalism Major at CU, so I brought my camera equipment and filmed the entire thing!) It was such a unique experience to see all of the downtown business owners and employees come together to celebrate each others' successes. I'd say this event made me appreciate small business communities in a completely new way. It also made me feel very proud of the work that Downtown Boulder does on a regular basis. Go us!
As I'm sure you can notice from my past blogs, I am a huge food lover. I'll try anything, anytime, anywhere. A perfect trait for this semester, because conveniently, Danielle (the other intern) felt the same way! We made it our mission to try a new place for lunch every day for the entirety of our time at DTB. Because of this pact, I went to multiple new spots that I know I never would have tried otherwise. I'm now a regular at T/ACO, obsessed with the Turkey Cranberry at Organic Sandwich and a huge fan of the Cucumber Mint juice at Lyfe Kitchen.
Lastly, I'd like to personally thank DTB for showing me Boulder in a completely new way. Despite having lived here for four years, I had no idea about the amazing community, excitement and friendship that the downtown district has to offer. It allowed me the opportunity to pay attention to the little things and really get to know the place I live in before it comes time to move away in three weeks.
After a lovely semester at DTB, I'm ready for the next chapter of my life after college!
I'll miss you, Boulder.
