Yes, it's that time of year again. Time to pull out your red sweaters, succumb to candy advertisements telling you "Yes, you NEED this box of chocolate", and scramble to find something to do this Saturday (so you're not couped up at home watching Netflix all day). It's Valentines day! A holiday full of love, sweet treats, and a half-naked baby mascot, what's not to love? Whether you're single, taken, anti-valentine's day, or a softy at heart, there's something for everyone to do in this wonderful downtown on the 14th!
I plan on spending my favorite holiday with the one thing I know will never break my heart, food. There are some incredible dining options on the 14th that both couples and singles alike can enjoy! If you decide to go for that mouthwatering multi-course meal at places like The Kitchen, Jax Fish house, or any of the other restaurants serving up delicious food this Valentine's Day, I guarantee you'll be leaving with a full-belly and a good time. One thing I'm looking forward to is Cured's Truffle Tasting Event. Chocolate tasting on Valentine's day? It doesn't get much better than that.
If the ooey-gooey, couples stuff isn't for you, not to fear! There's plenty for singles to do out there. Fun fact: in 2010, Forbes magazine listed Boulder as the "Best City for Singles". So call up your single galpals and head to the "Paint Wine Love" event POSHsplat for an evening of artistic endeavors, fun friends, and an in-store bar. After that, head up Pearl Street for Conor O' Neil's annual Anti-Valentine's Bash! Make sure to check out live music at The Laughing Goat and late-night dancing at Absinthe House. I can't think of a better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than having a great time with good friends!
Personally, I've always loved Valentine's Day! Regardless of my relationship status, it's a day to remind my best friends, family, and loved ones how much they mean to me. Make sure to check out the Downtown Boulder Gift Guide for all your Valentine's Day gift shopping this year! Whether you hand-craft valentines or dance the night away, I hope your Valentine's Day is full of good times and even better company! Have a wonderful Valentines Day, Boulder <3
