With expected temperatures at a near perfect 80 degrees for the start of June, why not spend a day out on Pearl Street? The Westside of Pearl Street that is. Now that the sun is in full effect, Pearl Street is the perfect place to take advantage of this beautiful (almost) summer Boulder weather. I came up with my ideal warm-weather “day” to spend on Pearl! Here are my suggestions:
I figure, why not start your day at one of the locals’ favorite coffee shops! Ozo has amazing teas, coffees, and snacks! Go grab a cappuccino, and a raspberry scone (my favorite), then relax on the West End’s sun beat side, and read the local paper.
I could literally spend hours here...I actually have, whoops! The Boulder Book Store has so many different options for every type of bookworm out there. Whether you want to tickle your fancy with non-fiction, romance, mystery, or even magazines! Challenge: find a topic that they don’t have a book about.
I’ll admit it, my favorite food is definitely a delicious taco. And I have to say, T/ACO does a mighty good job of providing just that! Their carnitas tacos hit the spot. They do a great job proving that salty, scrumptious flavor from the pork, yet they bring back your taste buds, with a sweet hint of the pineapple that is cooked in with the pork! YUM!
Approaching the last leg of our “Wednesday on Pearl”, lets do a little shopping. Art Mart is huge! They have all sorts of small doohickies, and trinkets. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking to give someone a gift, or even if you’re looking to splurge on yourself! Also check out Boulder Arts & Crafts gallery, full of amazing art by local artists!
To get outside and D-A-N-C-E! On Wednesday evenings head down to Band on the Bricks! Finish your day with some live music, and hang out with the rest of the Boulder Community. Come grab a cool beer from West Flanders Brewery, and listen to some great acts. (The Railsplitters are the main attraction of the night, but Leslie Tom will be the opener of the evening! Pearl Street is home to Bands on the Bricks every Wednesday night through the beginning of August. So if you can’t enjoy your “day on Pearl” this week, come down any Wednesday the rest of summer, and partake on this wonderful Boulder fun!)
