Boxcar 79 performs fresh Colorado Americana and Bluegrass originals along with select covers that emphasize vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentation. We draw inspiration from a variety of artists including Bill Monroe, Gillian Welch, Tim O'Brien, Townes Van Zandt, Avett Brothers, Lyle Lovett, Cracker, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Eddie Vedder, as well as our local heroes Finnders and Youngberg, The Railsplitters, Bonnie and the Clydes, 300 Days, Monocle Band, and RapidGrass.
