R Gallery’s newest exhibit 'Energeia (Energy)’ explores themes and expressions of energy in art in a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, and fiber art.

The word energy derives from the Ancient Greek: ἐνέργεια, or energeia, which literally translates to 'activity, operation'. In contrast to the modern definition of energy, energeia was a qualitative philosophical concept that included cosmic forces, workmanship, supernatural action, happiness, and pleasure. Through the use of form, composition, color, and motion, the work in this exhibit conveys the energy that physically or emotionally influences our world.

The show opens January 21 and can be viewed through March 1, 2020. Come meet the artists at the show reception on Friday, February 7 from 6 to 8 pm.
