Learn and improve sewing skills during school days off! Our experienced instructors will guide students through a fun-filled morning where students will learn practical skills such as how to thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin, sew hems and buttonholes, read, cut and sew from a commercial pattern, use interfacing, install a zipper and more. Students will build on fundamentals as they gain confidence and hone skills.

Sewing requires concentration, problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills. Studies have found that sewing helps stimulate creative thinking, promoting self-esteem and perseverance. And completing a project from start to finish gives everyone a sense of accomplishment. Our sewing projects will include apparel, accessories, and fashion for the home. We will begin by reviewing the basics and cover safety, fabric and pattern terminology, and sewing machine mechanics, and get lots of practice sewing.

Ages 7 and up.

Cost: $70 – Please send your child with a nut-free snack and a water bottle. Everything else is included in the price of the class including our fabulous fabric and materials for the sewing projects.

Instructor: Shannon Conover
