Alan Manley is an American, now a Piemontese, living in Barolo. After working with a superstar lineup of wineries in the region like Bartolo Mascarello, Cavallotto and Luciano Sandrone, Alan recently launched his own winery, Margherita Otto, based in Monforte d’Alba.
Made in the style of the blended Baroli of Bartolo Mascarello, Margherita Otto blends vineyards sites throughout Monforte d’Alba, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba. A long time friend of Frasca, Alan let us know of his project a while ago and we were the first in Colorado to receive his wines. We tasted them right away and they are delicious. This is such a treat on a Monday night to taste multiple Baroli from such incredible vineyards sites. Alan will be pouring his 2013, 2014 and 2015 Baroli as well as an experimental rosé.
