Based in the hilltop village of Radda in Chianti, Monteraponi is a large estate of 200 hectares with 12 hectares of vines. Proprietor Michele Braganti revived his family winery in the early 2000s after falling in love with Radda’s world class Sangioveses from neighboring producers like Montevertine. The wines of Monteraponi are pure, lifted, expressions of Sangiovese that clearly express the high altitude situation of Radda yet are always bountiful with the gastronomic aromatics of great Sangiovese - roasted herbs, roasty tomatoes and bright cherries. Michele’s hands off approach to winemaking and dedication to Sangiovese delivers utterly delicious wines. This will be Michele and Export Manager, Alessandra Deiana’s first time to Frasca.
