The Produttori del Barbaresco is the best, highest quality wine cooperative in the world, not to mention the greatest value wines in Barolo and Barbaresco. Led by the great winemaker Aldo Vaca, these are some of the purest, most unadulterated expressions of Nebbiolo, from vintage to vintage.
It is hard to imagine what the village of Barbaresco would be without the Produttori. Comprised of 50 member growers, the Produttori only produces Nebbiolo. All of the crus of the Produttori are vinified exactly the same so as to express the individual terroir of the vineyard through the style of the vintage. The Produttori has 9 cru vineyards.
Every vintage, winemaker Aldo Vaca, along with all the growers of the Produttori decide to bottle the crus – in the event that one Cru does not perform or is not up to the standard of the Produttori del Barbaresco, they do not make ANY cru Barbarescos. This is so extreme – it is all or nothing!
