Downtown Boulder, Inc.’s (DBI) Annual Luncheon Recognizes the Best and Brightest in the Downtown District

From well-established community advocates to up-and-coming businesses, DBI celebrates local businesses & business owners

[Boulder, CO]  February 3, 2014 – On Tuesday, February 4, 2014, DBI’s annual luncheon at the Hotel Boulderado (beginning at 11:30 a.m.) will recognize individuals and businesses in the downtown Boulder community who help make the district a premiere shopping, dining and entertainment destination.  This year’s award recipients include:

Business of the Year - Frasca Food and Wine
Rising Star – LON Little Shop
Property Owner of the Year – John Reynolds
Community Service Award – Isabel McDevitt (Bridge House)
Ron Porter Special Achievement Award – Jake Puzio (Citywide Banks)

Frasca Food and Wine will receive the business of the year in recognition of their continued success in generating awards and accolades that help keep the entire downtown dining scene in the national spotlight as one of the top dining destinations in America.

LON Little Shop will be presented the Rising Star Award for helping enhance the downtown retail landscape by opening their modern design showroom just north of the Pearl Street Mall on 13th Street in November.  Property Owner of the Year will go to John Reynolds for his complete renovation of 1904 Pearl Street – now occupied by Victor & Spoils and The Savvy Hen on Pearl Street’s East End. 

Isabel McDevitt, Executive Director of the Bridge House, will be presented with the Community Service Award in recognition of her efforts and success with the Ready to Work program.  The Ron Porter Special Achievement Award will go to longtime banking executive and community advocate  Jake Puzio.   Puzio is a former Chair of the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District and currently serves on the board of directors for Downtown Boulder, Inc.

With an audience of over 200 distinguished guests including city officials, city council representatives, and business & property owners, Colorado’s first ever Chief Marketing Officer, Aaron Kennedy will address the audience and talk about the successful launch of Brand Colorado and its objectives to create and market a stronger Colorado brand to unify the state.
