Inaugural Boulder Craft Beer Festival Coming to West Central Park on August 23

Twenty of Boulder County’s craft breweries to participate in this first-of-its kind tasting extravaganza in Boulder

Boulder, Colorado [July 31, 2014] – The first ever Boulder Craft Beer Festival presented by Liquor Mart and produced by Downtown Boulder, Inc. (DBI) will take place from noon – 5 p.m. on August 23 in West Central Park (west of Broadway on Canyon Boulevard).  The event will highlight 20 of Boulder County’s 30 craft breweries:

The event will delight any new or seasoned craft beer drinker and enthusiast! Attendees will expand  their pallet by sampling 40 craft beers on tap, live music (Andy Hackbarth from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. and The Hill Benders from 3 – 5 p.m.), mouthwatering food  (for purchase) and maybe get in a game or two of ping-pong and cornhole.  

Attendees will enjoy unlimited 2 oz pours of each breweries unique libations.   Ticket prices are $30 in advance and can be purchased online at BoulderCraftBeerFest.com.  (Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $35 staring at 11:30 a.m.  on the west side of the City of Boulder Municipal Building – on Canyon Boulevard at 11th Street.) The ticket price includes unlimited samples, a commemorative sampling glass and tasty snacks provided by Glutino & Udi's Gluten Free.    All attendees are urged to taste responsibly.  No one under the age of 21 will be allowed to sample.  IDs will be checked and wristbands will be provided.

“With 30 breweries in Boulder County including some of the most highly acclaimed in the U.S., we realized that Boulder is way overdue for a first-class beer festival. We're thrilled to showcase our local brewers and their amazing craft beers,” said Sean Maher, executive director of Downtown Boulder. Added, Festival Director Anna Salim, “We’re excited to present this unique opportunity for beer enthusiasts to taste and compare the very best of what Boulder County breweries have to offer with one of downtown’s nicest parks as our backdrop.”

A Designated Driver ticket is available for $10 to encourage attendee responsibility and safety for all.  The Designated Driver ticket includes five (5) non-alcoholic beverages and a $10 Food Ticket good with food vendors onsite.   The complete list of food vendors (food for purchase) will be announced on the BoulderCraftBeerFest.com website in early August.  

In celebration of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge Stage 7 Start on Sunday, August 24,  the Boulder Craft Beer Festival will highlight the biking community by encouraging attendees to cycle to the event where Boulder b-Cycle will host a valet bike parking station for a $1 donation.  And, for a $5 donation,  cyclists will be valet parked and also receive a Boulder b-Cycle PolarBottle.
