Taste of Pearl Celebrates Seven Years Highlighting Boulder Restaurants, Colorado Wineries and Downtown Boulder Boutiques

Category: Press Room

This Sunday (April 17), Downtown Boulder's Taste of Pearl will take 500+ attendees on a culinary sojourn around downtown Boulder during this one-of-a-kind event experience

[Boulder, CO] April 13, 2016 – Seven years ago, Downtown Boulder, Inc. (DBI) was looking for an opportunity to highlight Boulder’s thriving dining scene - as well as a way to introduce people to downtown’s eclectic retailers and galleries. What was born was the idea to celebrate Boulder’s foodie reputation inside boutiques and galleries throughout the district.  To make the event even more enticing (and truly celebrate the best the state has to offer), Colorado wineries from near and far were invited to participate.  The result of this unique pairing is one of the most popular and successful events DBI produces.  A first-of-its-kind event, Taste of Pearl was bestowed the Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence (Promotional Event) in 2011.

This year’s event takes place this Sunday, April 17 (rain/snow/shine) from 2 – 6 p.m. in 15 host locations along Pearl Street.   Currently, general admission tickets are still available; however VIP tickets are sold out. General admission tickets ($65) can be purchased at www.TasteofPearl.com until midnight on Saturday, April 16, 2016.   (Taste of Pearl is designed to accommodate 550 attendees to ensure an intimate experience with restaurateurs and winemakers.)

If tickets are still available on Sunday,  they will be sold ($70) at www.TasteofPearl.com until noon, then people may purchase in person starting at 12:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall. Participants will receive a map at check-in (opening at 1:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall) that will guide them on this Epicurean adventure.  (Food and wine pairings will be revealed at this time.)

Attendees will savor bite size samples from participating restaurants:  Aji Latin American Restaurant, Centro Latin Kitchen, Flagstaff House, Frasca Food & Wine, Japango, Jax Fish House, Jill’s Restaurant & Bistro, Leaf Vegetarian, OAK at Fourteenth, Pizzeria Locale, Riffs Urban Fare, SALT the Bistro, Spruce Farm & Fish, West End Tavern and Wild Standard.
