Two Favorite Summer Concert Series Return to the Pearl Street Mall

Downtown Boulder’s Bands on the Bricks and Noon Tunes kick off their ten week seasons next week

BOULDER, CO, June 7, 2012 – A sure sign of summer is Downtown Boulder, Inc.’s (DBI) two free summer concert series, Bands on the Bricks and Noon Tunes.  Both are set to debut their 2012 seasons next week on the one-and-only Pearl Street Mall.

Celebrating its’ 15 anniversary, Bands on the Bricks kicks off Wednesday, June 13, with a performance from Selasee at 7 p.m. on the 1300 block of the mall.  Every Wednesday between June 13 – August 15, concert goers will enjoy Boulder County's premiere outdoor summer concert series - a not-to-be-missed tradition for the entire family. With shows ranging from pop to reggae to blues, funk and beyond, Bands on the Bricks has become synonymous with summer for locals and visitors alike. Attendees are encouraged to come early and enjoy the beer garden  (opening at 5:30 p.m.) featuring Twisted Pine (June), Upslope (July) & Avery Brewing (August) while learning more about local non-profits: YWCA (June), Attention Homes (July) & EFAA (August). 

This year, Bands on the Bricks will host a special performance by Rebecca Folsom on the Fourth of July.   A 2012 lineup can be found at BandsOnTheBricks.com.  Bands on the Bricks is produced by DBI; presented by FourStar Realty; and sponsored by the Daily Camera, KBCO-FM, Guaranty Bank & Trust & City of Boulder Parking Services.

For lunchtime entertainment, DBI is proud to bring back Noon Tunes every Friday this summer (between June 15 and August 17) from 12 – 1:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall.   This engaging music series provides the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing outdoor lunch in the heart of the city.  

All of July’s scheduled entertainers are geared towards children – providing free and interactive afternoon activities/performances.   Noon Tunes begins its season Friday, June 15, with a performance from Swing Je T’aime.   A complete lineup of performers can be found at TunesAtNoon.com.  Noon Tunes is produced by DBI; and sponsored by the Daily Camera, Broadway Suites, Colorado State Bank and Trust & City of Boulder Parking Services.
