Recharge Your Creativity with Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery
Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery is one of the oldest artist cooperatives in the United States, supporting many styles of craftsmanship: jewelry, ceramics/pottery, painting/photography, metal and wood working. The gallery has been located on the Pearl Street Mall since before the mall was built, so they've had a long time to think about an ideal day downtown!
By nature, most artists are on the introverted side, and since every member of the co-op also works in the gallery (Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery), we see to it that everyone has time and space to recharge their energy during the day. One of the ways we love to do that is to get outside for a walk around downtown Boulder... and have a snack!
A favorite place to start is on the West End with a cup of coffee and a pastry at Trident, which has been a part of Pearl Street almost as long as we have. Depending on the mood, we wander over to Boulder Book Store for inspiration between the pages or Two Hands Paperie to write or draw our own.
Next a stop at Peppercorn is always on the list for this staff, who also find a creative outlet in cooking with friends and family. Of course, looking at all of the cookbooks, accessories and specialty foods put us in the mood for a snack again, so it's off to Dushanbe Tea House, which feeds both body and soul with it's hand carved and hand painted ceilings. It's truly a kindred spirit to the gallery and a great way to end a stroll around downtown Boulder.
