Parking Garages / Surface Lots
There are five city parking garages and three surface lots within the downtown district.
All city parking garages are now gateless. Garage parking will now be charged through Metropolis- an easy, contactless form of payment. Register using your cell phone number, vehicle's license plate and enter your credit card information to ensure a no-hassle entry and departure from all city garages. Metropolis works similarly to an express toll pass, by scanning your license plate and charging your registered account. Register here.
How to register through Metropolis:
- Using a computer or a smartphone go to Metropolis.io or download the IOS app here.
- Enter your cell phone number.
- Check text messages for a six-digit code to verify phone number.
- Enter your vehicle's license plate number.
- Enter your credit card number.
That’s it! You are now registered with Metropolis. Drive through any City of Boulder Parking Garage with ease (no hassle, no gates!). Your credit card will be charged upon departure from garage. Questions about registration? Visit the Metropolis Help Center or call (856) 485-9703.

Parking garage rates: Under 15 minutes - no charge (but must be registered with Metropolis to receive grace period); $1.75 for the first hour, $1.25 for the 2nd-6th hour. and a $15.99 flat rate for 6-12 hours; Monday - Friday, $3 flat rate* when entering and exiting garages between 3 p.m. - 3 a.m. Saturdays, Sundays and City Holidays are FREE! Please note: Overnight parking is not allowed in city garages. Cars parked longer than 24 hours will be charged the normal hourly rate ($1.25/hr.) for every hour parked. (Rates valid as of Oct. 1, 2023 and are inclusive of fees).

Surface Lots- Pay by credit card (please remember your license plate number to initiate a session) at a parking kiosk or on the ParkMobile app. Short-term parking (15 minutes or less) is FREE by choosing appropriate option at the pay station (and providing your vehicle’s license plate number) or on the ParkMobile app. (Note: the 15 minute free parking applies to one vehicle once per day.) If a pay station is broken or malfunctioning, please pay at the next closest pay station. Please make a service request here to report a broken pay station or meter.
Meter parking - $1.50 per hour, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sundays and City Holidays are FREE:
- Broadway and Spruce (58 spaces)
- Broadway and Arapahoe Park Central (27 spaces)
Surface Lots:
First 90 minutes of parking are free by choosing appropriate option at the pay station (and providing your vehicle’s license plate number) or on the ParkMobile App., additional 90 minutes may be purchased for $1.50 per hour with a 3 hours maximum, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m, Sundays and City Holidays are FREE
