Downtown Insider with BMoCA
David Dadone is the Executive Director + Chief Curator of Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA). Located next to the Dushanbe Tea House just east of Central Park on 13th Street. BMoCA is a catalyst for creative experiences through the exploration of significant art of our time, and serves over 114,000 people each year through 9+ exhibitions, 7 education programs, and over 500 events.
It’s so great to work for BMoCA, which is in the perfect location to take advantage of all downtown Boulder has to offer. When I need a breath of fresh air and a coffee break, Boxcar is my favorite place to go. I have a sweet tooth, and bring pastries from Spruce Confections to the office all of the time.

I like to say that cooking is my art and my way to express myself – I’ll buy spices from Savory Spice Shop for my own cooking, and I love that there are so many amazing restaurants downtown. I go to the Boulder County Farmers Market every Wednesday afternoon to stock up on fresh food for the rest of the week, and I also love Gelato Boy!
When I need catering for an evening Opening Reception or special event at BMoCA like ARTMIX, Dedalus Wine is the first place I call. After events, I’ll go out for drinks and a late meal at Bramble & Hare or Oak.
