As fall semester begins to come to an end so does my internship here at Downtown Boulder. This will be my last blog post as an intern! I cannot believe how fast this semester and my internship went by. I am walking away having learned tons of new skills. I’ve met a lot of amazing people and gotten to experience many of the great attributes of working downtown! I am just finishing up first semester of my junior year at CU Boulder, next I will be exploring Europe and studying abroad in Prague for the spring semester.

Over the course of this four month internship, Downtown Boulder has helped guide me professionally and also helped me connect with the amazing downtown community present in Boulder. Having lived here for most of my life I often feel as though I take our wonderful community for granted. This internship gave me the opportunity to step back and truly appreciate the magic of my own home.

One of my favorite parts about this internship was being able to write weekly blog posts. I loved describing my favorite spots downtown, writing about new places I discovered, promoting or talking about events and also just writing about this beautiful community! I also really enjoyed being able to attend events that Downtown Boulder produces. Girls' Night Out, Switch on the Holidays and the Lights of December Parade were all a blast to attend and to help out with! I especially enjoyed Girls’ Night Out and, taking pictures of the participating stores for a Blog Post I wrote in September. I also loved getting to hang out wih Santa and Mrs. Clause at both Switch on the Holidays and the Lights of December Parade! (pictured above)

Another one of my favorite parts of this internship was putting together this year's Holiday Gift Guide! It was so fun walking around downtown, finding unique gifts and taking pictures of them. One aspect of this internship that I really enjoyed was the ability to get up from my desk and walk around Pearl Street in order to inspire new ideas for projects or take photos!

As I conclude my final days at Downtown Boulder I am so grateful for the opportunity I had this semester to intern for such an incredible organization. I want to thank everyone at the Downtown Boulder Partnership for welcoming me so warmly. You are all amazing individuals who are so hard working and selfless. I along with the rest of the downtown Boulder community appreciate all of the work you put into maintaining both the unique culture and appearance of downtown.  I was able to learn so much about the inner workings of a well managed, efficient company, work with awesome people, and further my knowledge about marketing. I hope to pursue a career in marketing or branding after completing my education at CU. In the meantime I’m looking forward to traveling and studying abroad next semester! I also look forward to coming back to downtown Boulder to shop and dine in this amazing district.

Cheers & Happy Holidays!
