How to Enjoy Bands Above The Bricks This Summer - Virtually!

Category: Boulder Blog

Post Date: Monday, July 13, 2020

This Wednesday kicks off the first ever virtual Bands Above The Bricks concert series, and I have a few tips for everyone to enjoy these online concerts to the max! Although it’s upsetting we can’t experience the concerts in person together, there’s still great music to be heard and businesses to support. The following four bands will be participating in this virtual series: The Long Run will perform on July 15, Foxfeather on July 22, Hazel Miller and The Collective on July 29 and The Champions will be the last to perform on August 5. You can visit here to watch the concerts online. Keep reading to learn how you can spice up this virtual event from the comfort of your home.

Since the concert starts at 7 p.m., it’s best to pick up dinner and drinks from one of your favorite downtown restaurants so you can have something to munch (and sip) on while enjoying the music. Pizzeria Locale offers delicious Neapolitan pies that are great for splitting between your family or friends, and spritzes or bottles of wine to-go are the perfect drink to top them off. If pizza is a little too heavy for your summer night, opt for their bruschetta or fresh salads instead.

If you don’t have time to pick up takeout before the concert starts, try delivery! The Kitchen, Next Door and Bartaco are just a few of the many downtown restaurants offering delivery through services like DoorDash and Uber Eats. Wherever you choose to get delivery or takeout from, remember that no concert can be enjoyed on an empty stomach.

I hope these ideas will help you enjoy this online concert series and inspire you to keep supporting our downtown businesses. Bands Above The Bricks is a summer classic in downtown Boulder, and even though we have to be apart for them this summer, we can still come together to support downtown Boulder and the bands!

Until next time,

Intern Sierra
