Wednesday After School Sewing Workshops at Fabricate are for children ages 8 and up who are interested in learning more about all things sewing and textile related. Our experienced instructors will guide students through a four-week series where students will learn practical skills and will build on fundamentals as they gain confidence and hone technique.

Sewing requires concentration, problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills. Studies have found that sewing helps stimulate creative thinking, promoting self-esteem and perseverance. And completing a project from start to finish gives everyone a sense of accomplishment. Our sewing projects will include apparel, accessories, and fashion for the home. We will begin by reviewing the basics and cover safety, fabric and pattern terminology, and sewing machine mechanics, and get lots of practice sewing.

This is a beginner to intermediate level sewing class that meets Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 – 5:45. Please send your child with a nut-free snack and a water bottle.
