Harmonious Junk formed in 2001 in Las Vegas, NV, and were quickly named, by radio personality George Lyons and the newly for...med Las Vegas JamBand Society, "THE! Las Vegas JamBand". Frustrated by a lack of performance options in Vegas, and inspired by tour stops with his main group, "Godfather of Soul"-James Brown (which Wood had joined in 1999 after 18 months in Brown's opening act) in Colorado, band leader Damon Wood, who went on to play for 7 years as a lead guitarist of the late Soul/Funk/R&B Legend, Rock and Roll Hall Of Famer, and Grammy winner, James Brown's "Soul Generals" (the touring band behind the Hardest Working Man In Business).
