Perfume blending is an alchemical art developed in ancient Egypt, refined by the Romans and Arabs and popularized by the French. From Queens to beggars, populations around the world have adorned themselves with everything from precious rose oil to animal musk. In this class, we will learn about plants and resins used for perfume, cologne and aromatic oils. We will also explore the basics of blending pure essential oils for scent, as well as emotional balance, and the various perfumery methods. Participants will leave with a sample perfume of their own creation.
