Downtown Boulder Blog

Halloween is just around the corner, and downtown Boulder is getting ready for a big weekend! With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, next weekend brings a CU home game, the Golden Buffalo Marching Band and plenty of little trick-or-treaters. Here’s what to add to your calendar and how to get ready this week.

In my last blog, I shared some of the amazing spots downtown that I’ve been dying to try. Today I had an hour to kill for lunch, so I finally got to try some new ones!

Now that I’ve been interning with Downtown Boulder Partnership for just over a month, I’ve had the pleasure of trying new things and discovering places around downtown that I’ve never been to before!

The Sundance Film Festival has spent more than four decades in Park City, Utah. This January, that changes, and as I finish my senior year of college, I’ll get to experience the Festival’s first year right here in Boulder. I've heard the buzz about the Festival for years, but I never imagined I’d get to experience it in a place I call home.

In anticipation of the Pearl Street Mall’s 50th anniversary in 2027, (50 Years on Pearl.com), I got the opportunity to check out some archival photos from the early days of the Pearl Street Mall and recreate them.

My name is Bella Goodson, and I'm beyond excited to be joining the Downtown Boulder Partnership this fall as the 2026 Marketing and Communications intern!

My summer is coming to an end, and so is my time as the marketing and communications intern with the Downtown Boulder Partnership.

Plan some fun activities to do in downtown Boulder as you wait for August’s arrival by celebrating some upcoming “national days”.

It’s your last chance to partake in World Cup festivities, and downtown Boulder is the perfect place to be.

Have you ever walked around downtown and wondered how it all came to be? Well, I was lucky enough to learn a few pieces of history about the area.

The first week of June, we celebrated Downtown Employee Appreciation Week to recognize all the people who make downtown Boulder so special.

My name is Iris Serrano, and I am the Marketing and Communications Intern for summer 2026. I’m excited to get started and learn more about downtown Boulder.

It feels a little surreal writing this, but as my time with Downtown Boulder Partnership comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on how meaningful this experience has been for me. Not just professionally, but personally too.

I am so happy to introduce our brand new Wellness Trail! Think of this as your go-to-guide for exploring wellness in a way that feels approachable, flexible, and most-importantly-enjoyable. Whether you have a full day to dedicate to yourself or just an hour between classes, work, or other plans, the trail is designed to meet you where you’re at.

Graduation season is officially here, and as a college senior myself, it’s starting to feel very real with CU’s graduation approaching in just a few weeks. Whether you’re celebrating a college senior, a high school grad, or someone special in your life, this time of year is all about big milestones, new chapters, and finding the perfect way to say “I’m proud of you.”

There is so much happening in the near future to check out downtown, and whether you’re someone who loves to plan things out or prefers to wander and see where the day takes you, there are plenty of reasons to spend some time here in the coming weeks. From can’t-miss events to sweet treats and a wave of new spots to explore, here's what to keep on your radar.

Whether you’re up with the sun or just in need of a little midday rest, there’s something about a good cup of coffee that can completely shift your day. Luckily, downtown Boulder has no shortage of go-to spots, whether you’re looking to ease into a slow morning or find somewhere to lock in and get some work done. Here are a few of my favorite places to start your day, or keep it going.

Spring Break just wrapped up, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably already looking for something fun to look forward to. Luckily, you don’t have too look far. This Sunday, March 29th from 2-5 p.m., Pearl Street is turning into one big tasting experience for the annual Taste of Pearl, and it’s one of those afternoons you won’t want to miss.

If you’ve ever taken a stroll downtown, you’ve probably noticed the vibrant energy that makes this area so special. Beyond the shops, restaurants, and mountain views though, there’s something else woven throughout downtown that many people pass by without even realizing, and that is the abundance of creativity and art.

Happy almost St. Patrick’s Day! This week, I've put together a guide to some of the local holiday happenings downtown to help you to celebrate St. Patty’s Day the best way possible, by exploring downtown and discovering some festive finds along the way.

This week, I’m focusing on the little things in life by finally trying places I’ve always been curious about but never quite made time for. This past weekend, I got the chance to check out two spots downtown that I’ve walked past countless times; places that have always caught my eye but somehow stayed on my “I’ll go eventually” list.

If you have a sweet tooth that you simply can’t ignore, you’re in the right place. I stand by the fact that it’s never too cold for ice cream, and downtown Boulder has some of the best spots to satisfy every kind of craving.

I don’t know what it is about the start of a new year (and honestly just the first few sunny days in Boulder), but I always get the urge to reset my routine a little bit. Not in a dramatic “new year, new me” kind of way, more in a “I just want to feel a little more put together and grounded” kind of way.

Whether you want to go full date-night mode, celebrate Galentine’s with your friends, or take yourself out for some self-love, downtown has many options that are incredibly easy to tailor to your liking. Here’s your guide to celebrating February 14th based on your Valentine’s Day personality.

If you’re looking for new places to eat downtown, I’ve got you. Downtown Boulder is home to spots that have quickly become some of my favorite places to meet up with friends, relax, and treat myself to a great meal.

There is something special about downtown Boulder at night, particularly when you’re celebrating a milestone.

Hello Downtown Boulder!
My name is Ava Esposito, and I’m the new Marketing and Communications Intern for Spring 2026! I’m a senior at CU Boulder, majoring in Communications with a minor in Sociology, and I’ll be graduating this May. I’m originally from Newburgh, New York, in the Hudson Valley, but over the past few years Boulder has truly become my second home. I’m so excited to spend this semester exploring downtown Boulder even more, especially since the area played such a big role in what first drew me to this incredible city.

Hey downtown, can you feel that mix?
The countdown is on, hello, 2026!
Whether you sparkle, sip, dance, or dine,
There’s magic downtown and a party to find.
Grab your glitter and your midnight crew,
We’ve rounded up the fun to help you!

My time in Downtown Boulder is winding down, and I’m feeling every shade of bittersweet about it. Before I go, I wanted to leave one last story behind. Part love letter, part curtain call, part quiet thank you to the place that shaped my weeks more than I expected.

If you’ve ever wondered which Boulder restaurants keep me up at night in the best way, the list is live. Come see the dishes I’m saving for birthdays, graduations, and maybe my first real paycheck.

Holidays got you running on peppermint lattes and panic? Slow down, breathe, and treat yourself to a little holiday self care

Downtown is going full spooky. From Rocky Horror at the Boulder Theater to the Munchkin Masquerade and late night ghost tours. Downtown’s got tricks, treats, and plenty of weird. Come wander! The party’s already haunting the bricks.

There’s something magical about Downtown after dark. The buzz, the lights, the music drifting out of open doors. Join me as I hop from Mountain Sun’s live tunes to Rosetta Hall’s dance floor, and end the night between The Attic and The Downer with cheap beer, pool, and good company.

Volunteering at Fall Fest this year was such a blast. My mom came up to visit, and we spent the day listening to Ritmo Cascabel’s cumbia set, dancing around, and checking out all the booths downtown. The face paint was a hit, the caramel apple was elite, and the glambot? Way too fun.

It’s Hispanic Heritage Month and Boulder is serving up stories, flavor, and community pride. From Tres Leches at Rosetta Hall to the award-winning Cozobi Fonda Fina, discover how local chefs and artists are celebrating Latin culture one delicious bite (and story) at a time.

Follow along as I eat, shops, and explores Boulder! From Rosetta Hall’s tres leches to whiskey flights at Boulder Spirits and all the fun of Fall Fest, this bucket list is full of downtown gems.

Fall is here in Downtown Boulder! From cozy cafés to steamy noodle bowls, explore the ultimate insider’s guide to warming up your autumn days.

It’s the equinox, and that means I’m reflecting on balance. Here in Downtown Boulder, we see a delicate balance, a microcosm of society every day. People gather in our shared spaces for festivals, for fellowship, for free speech events, and for moments of mourning. Businesses open and businesses close. And it’s also a place where policy is decided: policies discussed over coffees, lunches, cocktails, and in our elected officials’ chambers. Sometimes those conversations are balanced, and sometimes they feel exhausting.

Sadly, my summer internship at Downtown Boulder Partnership is coming to a close. But it's not goodbye, just see you later, downtown.

School is just around the corner, so I've created a Back To School Essentials Guide for incoming CU students!

The Pearl Street Mall is Boulder’s quintessential third place. With its well-tended flower beds and shady trees, benches, play structures, and plentiful street performers, it’s a place where people linger, not just pass through.  It’s walkable, relaxed, and full of life.

CEO Bettina Swigger's op-ed in the Daily Camera. "Given my commitment to walkability, you may think that I’d be in support of the Pearl For You petition circulating that is asking the city to put a ballot initiative to close West Pearl to private vehicular traffic. On the surface, this seems like a shiny, happy idea. To those who appreciated the novelty of pandemic-era emergency innovation, spending a sunny day walking and dining on streets normally used by cars sounds great.
But the current reality is much different, and this petition is not in the best interests of our community and the people who love spending time in our downtown and come here every day. Please join our growing coalition to Keep West Pearl Open."

This Monday, February 24th marks the inaugural Boulder Go Out to Lunch Day - making it the perfect excuse to ditch the desk lunch and treat yourself to a delicious mid-day meal. Join us every last Monday of the month to support downtown restaurants during lunchtime.

Earlier this month, we gathered downtown business owners and stakeholders for our Fall Town Hall at eTown, where we learned about the results from our 2024 Visitor Intercept Survey, conducted by RRC, commissioned by Downtown Boulder Partnership, Visit Boulder and the city of Boulder. This survey has been conducted every other year since 1995 which provides meaningful longitudinal data to see why and how people come downtown and what they think about, it once they got here.
This summer, 775 people took the survey, compared to 669 in 2022. Despite a high office vacancy rate, (a lingering effect of post-COVID redefinition of the traditional office model), locals are coming downtown. Just over half of the Colorado respondents in the survey were from Boulder vs. 43% in 2018. Among locals, 25% live in north Boulder, which is likely a result of more housing being built in that part of town. Aside from Boulder, the biggest Colorado cities of origin are predictably Longmont, Denver, Lafayette, Broomfield and Louisville. Out-of-town visitors play a crucial role in sustaining and energizing downtown Boulder’s economy.

Summer is in full swing in Boulder, which means an abundance of sun and a few scorching hot days along the way. Luckily, downtown Boulder has plenty of ways to cool off when it feels like you are melting outside!

Since I came to Boulder almost two years ago I’ve had so many awesome experiences downtown! I’d normally say that one day to experience all of the amazing restaurants, shops and outdoor activities is just not enough but, I wanted to try to narrow it down so that if you only had one day, here are my top recommendations of the best way to spend one perfect day in downtown Boulder.

Summertime is here which means it is time to get outside and enjoy all the amazing things that downtown Boulder has to offer. This is my first summer in Boulder and I’m looking forward to taking in all of the super fun events and taking advantage of the range of outdoor activities available in Boulder.

This week I took an in-depth look at the history of one of downtown’s oldest businesses. Hurdle's Jewelry store is a fourth-generation family-run business operating in downtown Boulder since the store was founded in 1947.

This week, I stopped by the delicious breakfast and lunch restaurant Organic Sandwich Co, on the East End. As someone who loves sandwiches and has seen the menu numerous times while walking around downtown, I was extremely excited to finally try one of their mouth watering creations.

Father’s Day is here, and it is time to celebrate the dependable and loving dads in our lives. It is time reserved to spend time with close family and appreciate everything that dads do for us. On Father’s Day, my family and I always get outside to enjoy the sunshine, whether playing catch with my dad and brothers, golfing or having a family barbecue.

This week I checked out the iconic Boulder breakfast and lunch spot, Foolish Craig’s. I had heard about Foolish Craig’s delicious crepes and locally famous Corned Beef Hash since arriving on campus last year, so I was excited to experience it in person!

Summertime is right around the corner, which means the end of the school year is here. Kids are ready to put their books down, get off of Zoom and start taking advantage of gorgeous weather in Boulder by playing outside and getting together with friends.

Memorial Day weekend is one of the best times to get together with family and friends to enjoy beautiful weather and eat delicious food. I am excited to experience my first Memorial Day in Boulder because of the fantastic weather, scenery and food options that contribute to making downtown Boulder the perfect place to spend a long weekend!

My name is Jacob, and I am Downtown Boulder Partnership’s summer intern. Boulder is a special city loaded with a variety of outdoor activities and scenery, no matter where you are or what time of year it is.

I never thought the day would come, but I am sitting here writing my last blog as an intern with the Downtown Boulder Partnership! I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to share my perspective and experiences with downtown Boulder businesses with you all!

This week, I wanted to write an extra blog to feature some of the new places I got to try this semester that stood out to me! I thought it would be fun to go to all these places and capture my ventures on film, but there was a bit of a hiccup.

As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has shaken up our lives in more ways than one. One of the new normals we have had to adapt to is changing workspaces. While working from home seems ideal at first, it can quickly drain you of motivation and leave you dreading work.

It’s the start of a new week and I’m hoping the 60 degree weather is here to stay. Every time it is beginning to warm up, that means Downtown Boulder is also starting to thrive with plants, people… and art!

With warmer temperatures and blooming tulips, it has become more and more enticing to spend all day outside. One of the most fun ways to spend time outside is… you guessed it… on a rooftop! Downtown Boulder has a variety of rooftops and patios to choose from so you can sit outside and soak up the sun, all while enjoying great food and drinks.

The devastation of the past week has created a need for the Boulder community to support each other more than ever. The tragic events that unfolded have taken a toll on us all, and I want to use this blog to offer resources to help you cope through these trying times, as well as to update you on what the downtown Boulder community is doing to help.

As I’m sure many of us know, downtown Boulder got quite a bit of snow this past weekend. I am personally a big fan of snow days, but I know a lot of people dread them (along with the shoveling that accompanies them). I am here to give you a few ideas of how downtown Boulder can help you prepare for future snowy weekends so you have a little bit more fun, and to give you ideas of what to do once it gets warm again.

It is mid-March which means one of my favorite holidays is right around the corner… St. Patrick’s Day! I always love seeing people and towns turn green, with smiles on their faces. To me, St. Patrick's Day always marks the start of Spring, whether it be 10 degrees and snowing or 50 degrees and sunny. In this blog, I will give you ideas of ways to celebrate in either circumstance!

Spring is just around the corner and warmer weather is approaching. It’s almost time for spring cleaning and time to refresh your space to set you up for a successful and happiness-filled season.

As many of you know, Black History Month, celebrated during the month of February (each year since 1976), is an annual celebration of achievements by the Black community and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history.

Now more than ever, random acts of kindness are standing out and making a mark. Today is 2021’s National Random Acts of Kindness day, so let’s take this opportunity to bring joy into a world that has gone through a lot recently.

I get to do a lot of fun things for my job. In addition to my most favorite thing, which is visiting businesses in downtown and catching up with staff or just saying hi, I have the opportunity to get creative with the ways we interact with our businesses and the general public.

Like everything else over the past year, Super Bowl viewing might be a bit different than usual. No worries though, because the restaurants in downtown Boulder want to help you make this year’s Super Bowl just as fun as any other year.

Every person has their own way of celebrating holidays, Valentine’s Day included. This year, your traditional way of celebrating may need to be modified with covid-safe alternatives.

The Covid-19 pandemic has thrown a wrench in a lot of things. That being said, not all things that came from it are bad! We have been encouraged to dine through outdoor & pod eating, which is more fun than I would ever have guessed.

As Valentine's Day rapidly approaches, you may feel the need for guidance on ways to show appreciation for the loved ones in your life. Fear no more, because a Love the Local Valentine’s Day box is the perfect gift.

My name is Ally and I am the Downtown Boulder Partnership’s spring intern. Boulder has an irresistible charm, so when applying to colleges I knew CU Boulder would be where I ended up.

Well - we made it...2020 is almost over and while January 1st won’t look all that different (hello pandemic), the metaphoric clean slate is MUCH needed after a tough year.

I’m James Reynolds, a transplant from the East Coast now living in Boulder. I've spent the last 7 years studying, making, and eating pizza on the road to becoming a pizza expert.

I’m Anna, Downtown Boulder’s VP of Events & Membership.  Outside of work, I’m also a wife and a mother of two kids (4 and 6). For my family, convenience and efficiency are key to our day to day survival.

Typically my Thanksgivings are chock full of really crowded and cozy houses, family, and all kinds of different tasty food (because Thanksgiving is the ultimate potluck).

It’s Terri...Downtown Boulder’s VP of Marketing.  It’s my pleasure to present my version of Oprah’s Favorite Things.  Now, don’t get too excited...I’m no Oprah!  But, I’ll do my best to inspire you - because, we can all use a little inspiration right now!  This year’s theme as we enter the holiday season is similar to years prior BUT so much more important right now….local, local, local.

Julie here - and I am back with news of my favorite holiday. That’s right - Thanksgiving! It is my favorite holiday for a few reasons - the turkey, the stuffing and the pie ;)

I’m Mariel Kramer, Events Coordinator with Downtown Boulder, and I’m very excited to be joining you all here in the blogosphere!
One of the best parts of my job is the opportunity to play an active role in building community in our public places by creating shared and inclusive experiences for locals and travelers alike.

It is election season and in case you haven’t heard it yet (just kidding)...make sure you VOTE! Election Day takes place one week from today on November 3 and lucky for us voting in Colorado is super easy.

Julia, DBP’s Administrative Assistant, here. Working from home can be an adjustment, so I thought I’d share a few ideas for how to break up weekday monotony you might be experiencing. First, good coffee can be key to productivity.

I’m Anna, Downtown Boulder’s VP of Events and Membership. I have been producing downtown’s beloved events – like Bands on the Bricks and the Pearl Street Arts Fest – for over 10 years. I love it.

Julie here - DBP’s Marketing and Comm. Coordinator - in case you didn’t remember ;) This week, I want to call attention to World Mental Health Day, which takes place on Saturday, October 10. World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.

If you’re new to our blog, welcome! If you’re not, you might be wondering who I am and why I am writing this blog post instead of our intern.

Everyone has cravings- chips, pretzels, caffeine- and for me, my cravings have always been sugary. Ice cream, doughnuts and churros are always at the top of my list, and no meal is complete without a little dessert to finish it off.

Downtown Boulder has a giveaway for you to enter this weekend, and we are so excited to share it with you! While we have sponsored many giveaways in the past, this one is completely hassle-free and we can’t wait to see all the entries.

This Wednesday kicks off the first ever virtual Bands Above The Bricks concert series, and I have a few tips for everyone to enjoy these virtual concerts to the max! Bands Above The Bricks is a summer classic in downtown Boulder, so the shows aren’t going to stop just because of COVID-19.

As COVID-19 cases continue to surge around the country, Boulder County has indefinitely extended it’s face covering ordinance. This is the perfect time to stock up on some new masks!

Boulder Weekly has rounded up the best Boulder cuisine for 2020 and the results are hard to argue with! Ranking everything from best veggie burger to the best fine dining, the list has both classic spots that you’re sure to recognize and some new contenders that’ll help you expand your foodie experience.

Summer is (and will forever be) my favorite season, and there is no better place to spend a summer day than strolling through downtown Boulder! Not only are there countless shops and restaurants to pop into, but nothing beats the sunshine and light breeze that accompany a Boulder summer.

As you may or may not be aware, June is Pride Month! Pride Month is held every June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots that took place in June 1969 and paved the way for LGBTQ+ people and LGBTQ+ rights.

The effects of coronavirus have definitely interfered with day-to-day life, but that doesn’t mean downtown Boulder has completely shut down. I’ve hunted down some of the best virtual events so that you can continue to experience the magic of downtown Boulder from the comfort of your home.

My name is Sierra and I am Downtown Boulder’s summer intern! I will be a senior at CU Boulder this fall, and I can’t imagine a better place to be interning during one of my last summers in Boulder.

This last Mothers Day weekend, I treated myself to a delicious meal as a part of “At Home with Frasca Hospitality Group” program recently launched by downtown’s Frasca and Pizzeria Alberico.

As many in this community know, downtown Boulder is more than just a place, it is a feeling. Now, with this blog page, we are bringing those Boulder vibes to your space!

St. Patrick’s Day, one of my favorite holidays, is just around the corner! There are a few fun shenanigans happening downtown leading up to the holiday, so start getting your green clothes and Irish accessories together!

Tomorrow is the opening day for the annual Boulder International Film Festival (happening all weekend downtown)!

Tomorrow is a day that only comes once every four years: Leap Day! To me, Leap Day means an extra day to both get caught up on work and have some fun. These are two things that can easily be accomplished downtown.

It’s midterm season for this Buff and saying I’m stressed is would be the understatement of the year. But don’t worry, I take self care seriously. This week, I want to share how I go about taking care of myself.

I love Galentine’s Day where ladies celebrate ladies. Leslie Knope of the show Parks and Rec defines Galentine’s Day as a day to celebrate your lady friends and that it should be a national holiday. I could not agree more.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...it's time for Downtown Boulder's Mid-Winter Sale! The sale starts this Friday, February 7 through Sunday, February 9.

As we all know, this Sunday is one of the nation’s favorite annual events: Groundhog Day! Oh… not where you were expecting me to go with that one? Well, you’re right. I’m really here to talk about Super Bowl LIV which has a special place in my heart...

I was walking down the Pearl Street Mall the other day and something was different, I wasn’t sure what, but I knew something had changed. After a few minutes of seriously over-analyzing my surroundings, I figured it out...

Hello Downtown Boulder! I’m Keighlee (it’s pronounced Kee-Lee, I know, my parents are creative) and I am super excited to be Downtown Boulder’s spring intern.

Julie here (DBP’s Marketing and Communication Coordinator), and I’ve got the 411 about all the fun ways to spend New Year’s Eve in downtown. There is a lot going on and it’s sure to be a fun night for all!

Just like the song from The Sound of Music, my time has come to say “farewell” but I’ll still be out and about exploring all the beauty in downtown!

Now many lattes and cappuccinos later, I created the Downtown Coffee Trail for you! It includes some of the best coffee shops in downtown Boulder, all with unique offerings.

Happy *early* Thanksgiving folks! Do you still need last minute plans or ideas? Well I’ve got you covered! Downtown Boulder is full of turkey and Thanksgiving happenings between pick-up meals and reservations for dinner!

Are you ready to play in the snow, drink hot cocoa from an IV and wear comfy clothes? Good news for you, it’s wintertime AND downtown Boulder has a TON of events to get you in the holiday spirits starting November 24 throughout the season.

Have you noticed more street art around Boulder lately? That’s thanks to Street Wise Boulder - an initiative by local artists and art space that brings together murals on alleyways, buildings and more.

This week is HALLOWEEN! I have some news for you, downtown Boulder is full of EXCITING things for the holiday - be ready to pick and choose from a wide variety of Halloween parties...

Hygge is known as the Danish lifestyle of coziness and contentment...I scoured downtown Boulder for items that would allow me to master the concept of “Hygge” so that I (and you) can be at my highest level of comfort during my downtime!

I’m spending a lot of time downtown so I know the perfect places to find winter jackets and other gear, because who couldn’t use more options to survive the cold that’s coming our way?!

Now that it is October I am in the mood for all things spooky! Besides watching scary movies and making apple cider, one thing on my to-do list is to figure out what I am going to be for Halloween.

With the start of October this week lots of new things are happening around downtown Boulder. One of these new and exciting things is the opening of Rosetta Hall.

The trend of “brunching” has been lively over the past few years. From finding t-shirts that say “Brunch Squad,” “Viva la Brunch"....brunch seems to be everywhere. I happen to love brunch myself, and as an avid breakfast-food lover I have taken it upon myself to detail the best brunches in the downtown district!

Lately, Mother Nature has been giving Boulder some beautiful weather. Here’s a list of some notable patios downtown ideal for enjoying the outdoors with a delicious meal.

I don’t know about you, but I happen to know a handful of people with birthdays at the end of August and early September. My sister just had her birthday, and she is coming to visit me this weekend from Dallas, so I plan on having a mini belated birthday celebration for her! I just need a cake...

This week I am on the hunt to find the perfect present for one of my best friends Kate. She is completely obsessed with all things self-care, so I am going to scour downtown stores to see what I can find to give her a present that she will love.

My name is Alicia and I am the new fall intern for Downtown Boulder. I am absolutely thrilled to completely immerse myself in this distinctive and exciting space!

For the past three months, I have had the pleasure of interning for the Downtown Boulder Partnership. I have learned so much about marketing, improved my writing skills, and have grown to love the downtown district even more.

It can be stressful to think about all the upcoming assignments and tests so shift your thinking to all the good things that come with a new school year, such as new friends, new knowledge, and new school supplies! I have put together a list of Back to School Essentials that will help you thrive this school year...

To help keep my wallet in check,  I’ve been trying to spend less on lunches. To help you out, I have put together a list of delicious places to get an affordable meal during your lunch break.

I am someone that loves reality television, and one of my favorite shows to watch is The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The finale is this week and I am so eager to see who Hannah will give the final rose to. To prepare for this monumental television event, you need to stop by some downtown Boulder shops to get some Bachelorette essentials.

In recent years the act of “thrifting” has become hugely popular. The used items trend could be attributed to Macklemore’s 2012 hit song “Thrift Shop”, the hipster fashion craze, or the influential green movement. Whatever the reason, thrifting has become one of my favorite things to do.

It’s that time of the year, folks… Pearl Street Arts Fest! The vibrant and exciting event starts this Friday, July 19th at 3 pm with a special 14th Street Artists Preview then lasts all weekend.

As you probably know, the beach is very different from our downtown district and I have a lot of beach necessities I have to pick up before I leave. Luckily for me, all the items I need for the beach can be found within downtown Boulder!

In case you didn’t know, the 4th of July is this Thursday and I’m here to inform you of all the activities and celebrations happening this week so you can celebrate to the fullest!

Soon my entire family will be in Colorado, and while I am so excited to see them, I am a little nervous about keeping them all entertained and happy. Luckily I live and work in an excellent area that truly has something for everyone!

I love spending my summers with kids because there are so many fun activities to do. This is my first summer in Boulder, and the opportunities for kids to play and learn are endless, making my job as a nanny substantially easier.

Downtown Boulder would not be the wonderful place it is without the support of the many hardworking and friendly employees that make up the local business scene.

The weather in May is always unpredictable, yet instead of embracing it, I continue to be surprised and upset every year when I see rain and snow in the forecast. I am usually a morning person, but it has been really hard to leave my bed these past couple of weeks. Luckily, I am a coffee addict and I have a couple of go-to shops that feed my addiction to make my days much less groggy.

My name is Sally and I am Downtown Boulder’s summer intern. I am excited to be spending the summer in such a charming and inimitable place! I am an incoming junior at CU, studying marketing and leadership with a couple of certificates thrown in there.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. This is my last week as an intern and I really can’t believe how fast time has flown by!

Here’s a random fact about me, tulips are hands down my favorite flower. I love the fact that they’re scentless and don’t give me a headache, they come in a variety of bright colors, and they signify that warm weather and sunshine are well on their way!

Lazy Sundays and brunch dates go together like champagne and orange juice, the perfect combination to kick off the start of a new week. With Easter Sunday coming in hot now’s the time to start booking those brunch reservations!

We all know that Boulder is a beautiful place, there’s no denying it, but if you look around town you’ll find that there are some ridiculously beautiful people who live here as well.

In this day and age of social media, did you really go anywhere if you didn’t post about it? Just kidding (but not really). Luckily for all of you on the gram’ Boulder is a picturesque wonderland just waiting for that VSCO edit.

Here’s a fun fact about me that no one asked for, Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery was the first restaurant I ate at here in Boulder way back in the fall of 2014.

Can we all agree that buying birthday presents for moms is the absolute worst? I’m not exaggerating when I say that my mom’s birthday honestly stresses me out more than the ‘so what are your plans after graduation’ talk that adults like to bombard me with.

Attention, attention, calling all movie buffs! The 15th Annual Boulder International Film Festival is happening this weekend, February 28 to March 3.

My heart broke when I heard that one of my favorite East End stores and downtown shopping destinations, Common Era, is closing its doors after two decades.

Chinese New Year is right around the corner (February 5 to be exact)... and you know what that means? Dumplings, dumplings and more dumplings!

Greetings Boulderites and visitors alike, my name is Lee Yamakawa and I am Downtown Boulder Partnership’s new Marketing and Communications spring intern. I am currently a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder, majoring in Communication with a minor in Leadership Studies.

There is no better place to spend the last few hours of 2018 than Downtown Boulder! This year, grab your friends & loved ones and make plans to celebrate in style. Here's some highlights...

As fall semester begins to come to an end so does my internship here at Downtown Boulder. This will be my last blog post as an intern! I cannot believe how fast this semester and my internship went by. I am walking away having learned tons of new skills. I’ve met a lot of amazing people and gotten to experience many of the great attributes of working downtown! I am just finishing up first semester of my junior year at CU Boulder, next I will be exploring Europe and studying abroad in Prague for the spring semester.

It is really starting to feel like the holidays here in downtown Boulder. After a great kick off to the holiday season with Switch on the Holidays, the grand illumination of the Pearl Street Mall, it's beginning to feel like the most wonderful time of the year! Along with festive lights and the holidays fast approaching comes show stopping window displays! I love strolling downtown this time of year for the sole reason of looking at the beautiful holiday displays the stores downtown have created. I wanted to showcase the best of the best of the best this year so all of you can see for yourselves the craftsmanship that goes into curating these festive displays.

This time of the year always inspires me to step back and reflect on things that I am grateful for. This year especially I am grateful to the downtown Boulder community for curating an environment unlike anywhere else, some place that truly feels like home. I feel privileged to live in such an incredible community where there is something for everyone to enjoy, an abundance of delicious food and drink options, events that bring the community together, and a beautiful city to learn and create in. I want to highlight five things downtown that I am grateful for and embody the lively downtown community.

Downtown is the perfect place for my friends and I to have a girls’ day. We love to head downtown to explore the shops, soak up the beautiful weather, and enjoy delicious dining and drinks.

Growing up in Boulder is an experience I wouldn't trade for the world. One amazingly unique feature about downtown and the surrounding community is the emphasis on supporting local businesses. Downtown Boulder has an abundance of locally owned shops and restaurants that have established a loyal customer base and have helped encourage the idea of shopping and dining locally. The term “Love the Local” has been coined to inspire residents and visitors to shop and dine locally.

The East End of the Pearl Street Mall is home to diverse businesses, unique shops and delicious dining options. The East End offers a one-of-a-kind experience to downtown Boulder, something you don’t want to miss out. I wanted to highlight some of my favorite places on the East End, these awesome spots are surely some of downtown Boulders hidden gems!

Wintertime on the Pearl Street Mall is one of the most beautiful times of the year. The bricks dusted in snow and the sleepy atmosphere of the mall make for a scene that looks like it belongs on a postcard. While many believe the prime time to enjoy downtown Boulder is during the warmer seasons, winter offers many fun, cozy, indoor activities that everyone can enjoy.

One thing downtown Boulder is definitely known for is its eclectic dining scene. I feel so lucky to live in a place where restaurants offer fresh food from local farms, a variety of cuisine types, talented chefs and innovative restaurateurs who make dining downtown an exciting, special and memorable experience. I wanted to highlight my favorite places ranging from cozy breakfast spots, classic American pubs to elegant fine dining experiences and everything in between!

On Friday night the undefeated Buffs are set to take on the UCLA Bruins at 7pm. But before another exciting home game at Folsom Field you don’t want to miss out on the Stampede happening on Thursday night! The Pearl Street Stampede is the perfect way to show your support for the Buffs and get excited for upcoming games!

Ladies this Thursday, September 20th from 5 pm to 8 pm grab your BFFs, co-workers, family members and head downtown for our second annual Girls’ Night Out! There will be over 30 downtown retailers participating in the event that will treat you to in-store special prizes, free tastings and more!

One of my absolute favorite things about downtown Boulder is the abundance of coffee shops. As a coffee addict I love being able to have different options to choose from. On Pearl Street you simply cannot go wrong with any local coffee shop located downtown!

My name is Emma and I am the new Downtown Boulder Intern for Fall 2018. I am currently entering my junior year at CU Boulder where I am studying Advertising and double-minoring in Business and Communication.

I can’t believe that my internship with Downtown Boulder is coming to an end! What an amazing journey this has been, I’m glad that I was able to experience my first internship right in the heart of Boulder.

As I head into my senior year at CU I can’t help but to think about how excited and nervous all the incoming freshmen will be. I remember those days like it was only yesterday! Now that I’m getting older-ish I am ready to sprinkle my wisdom and knowledge onto the next generation of young Buffs.

The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse is one of Boulder’s most unique attractions. The story that lies behind the teahouse is one that symbolizes years of friendship between two cities on opposite sides of the globe. The teahouse was built by hand in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 1987 and then was gifted to Boulder.

Summer is almost over, and school will soon be back in session, so I’ve decided to come up with a list of 5 things I need to experience before this summer slips away.

Pizza is probably my number one favorite food. I’m never not in the mood for pizza. Any kind of pizza, simple or gourmet, thin or thick crust, I will eat it! I guess I’m just a sucker for any food item that includes cheese and bread. I’ve scoped out some of my favorite pizza spots in downtown Boulder to review for all of you to try.

Everyone loves a delicious brunch, and when you’re in Downtown Boulder the brunch options are endless. It’s hard to narrow down on just a couple of restaurants, but I’ve chosen my top 3 all time favorites that can’t be missed.

Last week I finally got to experience Bands On The Bricks, and let me tell you it was a lot of fun! I had two of my pals tag along and we headed straight for the beer garden for some of the renowned Rio margaritas. Then we settled in near the front of the beer garden for a prime view of the show

Downtown is known for being one of the best shopping destinations on the front range. Some of my favorite  hot spots to shop happen to be on the West End. I’ve highlighted 5 different shops that can’t be missed on your next retail therapy day.

So one of the major perks about this internship is that you constantly get to explore downtown. I get to scope out all of the new stores and restaurants that pop up, and give an insider's perspective to all of you.

In honor of it being Tuesday, I found it appropriate for my blog post this week to be centered around “Taco Tuesday”. Taco Tuesday is a popular event that happens in Boulder just each and every week, so might as well enjoy it right? The drink and food deals happening downtown are one’s that can’t be missed.

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and of course, Downtown Boulder will be buzzing with events and people! If you’re wondering what to do on Memorial Day (and weekend) don’t worry, I’m here to help.

My name is Tyla, I’m currently a student at CU Boulder, and am your new eyes, ears, and voice of Downtown Boulder as the summer 2018 intern. As a Colorado native, Boulder has always been a big part of my life

I truly cannot believe I am at the end of this experience with Downtown Boulder and my college career. What a treat it was to work with this wonderful organization in my last internship as an undergrad. The passion and dedication of the team I worked with will ruin me forever as I search for an job with the same warm and charismatic culture as the Downtown Boulder Partnership.

I think it's safe to say that most people’s favorite time of year is summer and I would definitely qualify as one of those people. I’m not sure if it’s the nostalgia of summer break as a kid, or if it’s the beautiful weather, but we can all appreciate a nice, gorgeous summer day.

It’s springtime in Downtown Boulder. How can we tell? Tulips all along Pearl Street are beginning to bloom!

Everyone loves a good happy hour, including me (see picture above)! Whenever the weather is nice or I’ve had a looong day, downtown’s happy hours call my name (and for those of you who don’t know, we have some pretty good ones to choose from)! The competition was tough, but I’ve managed to pull together my TOP 3 favorite happy hours…

As we get ramped up for spring, we are getting ready for a jam packed season full of events downtown. One of the favorite events around the office is Taste of Pearl. Personally, I am really excited to be a part of what sounds like a really fun event.

I know you’re all probably just as excited as I am for all of the St. Patrick’s day festivities - green beer, bagpipes and kilts! Such an exciting time and with the luck of the Irish, it lands on a Saturday this year!

If Boulder's sunshine and gorgeous spring views aren't enough to get you here, check out 5 Things To Do This Spring in Downtown Boulder!

As 2018 begins, so does the last semester of my senior year at CU Boulder.

It’s a special time of year for Downtown Boulder Partnership where business owners from across the downtown community come together to eat, network, and reflect on the accomplishments of past year. This year’s luncheon was especially exciting because... I was there!

Hi everyone! My name is Alicia, and I am Downtown Boulder’s new spring intern! To start, I am so excited to work behind the scenes and participate in what makes downtown so special.

As this fall semester has come to a fast and unexpected close, so has my internship with Downtown Boulder. After these last four months of interning here, I am happy to be able to walk away with some real-life experience under my belt. As a senior, I will be graduating this upcoming May and (hopefully) begin my post-grad life as a young professional soonafter! I am thankful that this internship has given me an opportunity to get a hands-on glimpse and head start towards my future.

Starting this Friday you are invited downtown for a snowman hunt! This holiday season, show your love for local shops with Find Freezie. Freezie the snowman is hidden in 26 downtown businesses.

With the busy holiday season upon us, and the year coming toward an end, it can be hard to catch a break and take time to relax.

Downtown Boulder is home to many beautiful businesses, and many of these businesses have very aesthetic Instagram accounts that capture the best that downtown has to offer!

The snow welcomes the University of Colorado Homecoming Weekend here in Boulder, but don’t worry, the temperatures will be back to 60 just in time for the CU vs. Cal game.

Halloween is just around the corner, and downtown Boulder has all the best shops for finding your Halloween costume. Whether you’re looking to get decked out or dress up more casually, we have all the right stops for you.

Not sure where the best places to eat/drink/shop/explore are downtown? I can guarantee you that no one knows this better than downtown business owners and employees themselves.

Happy Friday everybody! This upcoming week is a big one for Downtown Boulder because Tuesday October 10th is SHIFT10 Day!

Calling all girls! This Thursday we are hosting an event meant for shopaholics! I personally love shopping, and this Thursday, September 28th, Girls’ Night Out will be the place to sip, shop and stroll!

In the week following Downtown Boulder’s Fall Fest, the weather is cooling down, the leaves are beginning to change, and fall is in the air.

Happy Friday to all on this lovely, warm, Boulder day. After long work days, late nights and stressful weeks, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is thankful that it’s Friday. Not only is it Friday, it’s a Friday before a CU football game, which means it’s time for the Pearl Street Stampede!

“Over the past year, some 34,000 men, women and children were forced from their homes every single day, pushing the [global] total to an astonishing 65.3 million people.” - Doctors Without Borders

Greetings fellow Boulderites and lucky visitors! According to urban legend, any of you who have stumbled across this utopian Colorado town are “cursed” to never leave, or destined to always return.

My internship with Downtown Boulder has sadly come to an end, which also means we are in the last days of summer vacation.

Just six days into the month of August, the Pearl Street Mall will be turning forty! The Mall is a lively and continuously evolving attraction, and it is only right that we pay tribute to some of the businesses that have blessed the Pearl Street Mall and the blocks adjacent for the duration of its forty years.

In the age of the smartphone and Instagram filters, everyone is basically a professional photographer! We have compiled a list of the most aesthetically pleasing spots around downtown Boulder for you  to reference next time you want to rack up the "likes" or improve your Pinterest page, if that’s more your style.

Summer is heating up in Boulder and the fun in the sun continues here on Pearl Street! In case you have been too caught up in the routine of frequenting your already favorite spots on Pearl, this post highlights a few new attractions that will compliment your summer.

Attention Boulderites! The Pearl Street Mall will be celebrating its 40th year anniversary this August! As with most anniversaries, this calls for some historic reminiscing.

I was recently recruited for some intern labor outside the office walls to help with the Bands on the Bricks. I was fortunate enough to have my first experience working Bands on the Bricks during the Hazel Miller Band.

Downtown Boulder’s premier summer music series, Bands on the Bricks kicked off last week, celebrating its 20th anniversary! In the approaching week, Last Men On Earth will be blessing the bricks on the 21st with a plethora of classic cuts from the 70s 80s and 90s.

Greetings Buffs, Boulderites, and blog readers alike! My name is Dave Armstrong and I will be taking over as a new voice for the blog, content producer, phone answerer, and fulfiller of other office administration duties.

It’s about that time… graduation. I still can’t believe how fast these four years have flown by. I have mixed emotions about graduating but I can’t wait to see the look on my mom’s face.

The tulips are finally here! This is my favorite time of year watching the beautiful bulbs showcase their vibrant colors throughout Pearl Street Mall.

My cousin and brother recently made big steps in their lives. During spring break, I am finally meeting my cousin’s new puppy and visiting her house in New Jersey.

As always, downtown is the place to be for St. Patrick’s Day! I am so excited to celebrate this year since I haven’t had the opportunity in the past.

With midterms approaching, it’s time to hit the books! When I want to take a break from campus, I stroll down to the Pearl Street Mall to visit my favorite study spots.

I recently visited the Reality Garage located on the Pearl Street Mall! What a unique experience. In less than a second I went from Glacier County, Montana to the streets of Manhattan.

Hey football fans! After another exciting season of NFL football, the time has come. The Super Bowl is just a few days away! Growing up a sports fan, this is one of my favorite times of the year.

Hello Boulder! My name is Hannah and I will be interning with Downtown Boulder until May!  I am excited to be the new voice of the blog and for you to join me on this adventure.
