As a college student, I'm all too familiar with living life on a restricted budget. Believe it or not, Downtown Boulder is chock full of entertainment and dining options that will allow you to stay within your budget, without sacrificing all the fun. Here's some great ways to enjoy everything the downtown area has to offer without breaking the bank:
- Happy Hour: This is the best way to dine on a dime! As a big Mexican food fan myself, I tend to gravitate to Tahona, T/ACO, and Centro's Happy Hours. Centro and Tahona both offer all-night happy hours on Mondays so make sure to check them both out . If Mexican doesn't tickle your fancy, you should check out Hapa's 2 rolls for $7 deal during their happy hour or SALT's featured cheese plate for $5!
- Lunch Options: Now that I work in one of the coolest places in Boulder, Chloe (the other intern) and I have made it our mission to eat lunch at a new restaurant in the downtown area every day! You can never go wrong with a quick bite at Illegal Pete's or Chipotle, but there's a variety of unique places downtown that offer Lunches under $5, like Aji, Zoe Ma Ma, Foolish Craig's, and Pizza Colore! Don't forget about Boulder Bowls, McDevitt Taco Supply, and the other delicious food carts on the 1300 and 1400 block.
- Cheap Dining: Although I would love for my boyfriend to take me out to OAK or Frasca every date night (*hint hint*), an inexpensive meal can taste just as good! Check out West End Tavern and The Attic right off the bricks on the West End! They both have great a restaurant ambience, as well as burgers and sandwiches priced around $10. The Med, another West End favorite, offers delicious $5-7 tapas ranging from hummus and veggies to chicken kabobs! If you're going out with a big group, I recommend ordering a ton of tapas to split between all of you at The Med! Lastly, if you're out on a Tuesday, make sure to swing by T/ACO or Tahona for super discounted taco nights! That's definitely a deal you don't want to miss.
