It's official. I'm the new intern here at Downtown Boulder, and I'm pretty stoked about it.
Whenever you start something new there is always that awkward transition point. Whether it's a new job, relationship, at a new school, etc. You know, where you want to really get into the groove of things, but you just don't know what you're doing yet. Everything takes four times longer than it should. That's exactly where I am right now.
It is my second day on the job and I have already lost count of the number of times I have asked Eli for the simple login password to my computer. I just can't seem to remember it, but don't worry, upon Eli's suggestion I have now written it down.
So while I'm still learning the ropes around here and asking questions approximately every eight seconds, I think I came in at a pretty good time. This weekend is Fall Fest. There will be music, art, food, beer, but most importantly, bouncy houses. Yes, I know what you're thinking, clearly at 21 I am too old for bouncy houses. However, I won't deny that the six-year-old inside of me (the same person that orders chicken fingers at nice restaurants), was drawn to them as I wandered along the mall watching everything being set up this afternoon.
Even if bouncy houses aren't your thing, there is going to be some great things happening downtown. The weather also looks like it is going to be perfect for lounging in the grass while eating a hot dog and listening to great local music. You'll also be able to see me be the new awkward intern on Sunday afternoon. So stop by and say hi, I'll be the one serving beer while asking where everything is and how to do something.
